I completely forgot to post my big news of the week. Our library was chosen to host a touring exhibit featuring artifacts from the life of Elizabeth I. Only one other library in Texas is getting the exhibit so it's a pretty big honor for us. I was shocked when Sarah, our Branch Librarian, asked me to be on the planning committee for this event but I do have a background in theatrical costuming. We had our first meeting on Thursday and I ended up with the following projects:

1. I have to develop a children's event revolving around Elizabethan dress. Bumrolls! Codpieces! Farthingales!

2. I am designing the costuming for all the docents and volunteers.

3. I will receive free docent training from the Museum of Fine Arts!

4. If I can find the actors, I get to direct a night of Elizabethan drama.

5. And my favorite, I am Elizabeth! Yes, I'll be attending high school football game half times and any other publicity stunt that they can imagine.

I stayed up last night until 2 a.m. researching my costume. I'm in big ole research geek heaven right now.
