Snow!: 2008 Featuring Oz

My photos of our incredible snowfall are here.   There are some truly horrible photos of yours truly included in the set so beware.

The car featured in some of the photos is Oz, my relatively new (October) 2009 purple Honda Fit Sport.  He looks blue in the photos but he is really dark purple with glitter or in Honda speak, Blackberry Pearl. 

Tonight was rather strange. I walked down to visit Hillary (aka FandomNiece) and check out their snow. Then we walked over to my sister's new house on the golf course.  People were out walking, making wee snowmen, and having snowball fights at 9pm. Usually our neighborhood is dead quiet by that time. 

Since Ike, there has been this strange depression going around almost like a mental flu. I think the storm combined with the complete breakdown of our infrastructure combined with the financial crisis put everyone here in a collective coma. Personally, I feel like I've just been going through the motions since September.  I go to work, I come home, I read a book, I go to bed. Then I do it all over again. I don't really feel anything.

Tonight was different. Tonight I felt really awake and alive.  Tonight was so beautiful that I don't want to go to sleep.
