I'm Staying

eccentriciAfter much debate, we have decided to stay at home or the library for the duration of the storm. My branch manager called to let me know that it was okay for us to seek shelter in the library if we needed to get away from home. The library is only 5 miles from my house so we will watch the weather and decided when we need to head over there.
This morning, we realized evacuation is pretty near impossible even with a full tank of gas. On the major freeways is taking people 6 hours to travel 30 miles. My brother and his family left for Austin this morning at 10 a.m. and they reached Huntsville (60 miles away) at 3 p.m. He managed to make such good time by taking back roads. We haven't heard from them so they haven't arrived in Austin yet (it's 150 miles from their home). Our neighbor tried to leave and after spending an hour and a half, he turned around and came back. He had only travelled 5 miles.
Dude, there was even a traffic jam in front of our subdivision. When Huffman has a traffic jam, you know the shit is about to hit the fan.
In good news, Chocolate Mint Jello Pudding is the BEST THING EVER. It tastes like Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. Plus if you make it with skim milk, it's virtually fat free.
